I couldn't find a front number plate that had the look I wanted so I made one, and painted it in black 2 pack primer

Then gloss, I've sent it with the rear one to a mate of mine who's a sign painter/artist for some 3d lettering

From the outset I'd decided to use a CB175 front end for the big twin leading shoe front brake which proved hard to source, had to buy a complete bike. Once the parts were removed the first job was to get the bottom yoke cleaned up of it's steering lock etc

I managed to sell the engine so the forks didn't end up owing too much.
First try at mounting everything showed that things weren't going to go as easily as I'd hoped the Honda frame was 20mm or so shorter at the headstock. I searched arround at work eventually finding a piece steel bar exactly the right size to tap inside the tube on the bottom yoke so I could cut it and extend it, I clamped it in my stoneage bench saw and went and made a cuppa

The piece of bar in question was the bottom Fulcrum pin from a Volvo Amazon

Here's the tube welded up and also drilled and pinned just to be on the safe side.Once the yoke fitted it became apparent that the lock stops weren't going to work so I extended them now looking like a pair of periscopes. Next problem was that the bearing cups were vastly different on the Honda and wouldn't work. After a lengthly skip diving session again I found an old Raleigh bike frame on which the tube was just the right size to fit tightly inside the Fizz bearing cup and tightly on the shaft. It all feels ok but I'm not 100% until my new bearings and cups arrive in a couple of days as the old cups are a bit pitted.

One of the reasons for choosing the Honda forks was the nice shape top yoke, unfortunately due to my using clip ons there were some unsightly holes to get rid of

Man, I must say I really like the customizing of all these parts. takes lots of courage to build up an oldtimer like this.
but whats your idea of the type of engine n setup your'e going to use?

Here's the offending item fitted along with the bottom yoke that has given me more aggrivation than you would have thought possible in it's 3rd coat of paint. Just when I thought it was sussed I found it was fouling on the frame on full right hand lock I had to strip it again and take the disc-er to it but it was still close so I found a couple of shims to go between it and the bottom bearing cup. Works a treat now though.
