Yesterday my seal kit arrived from Rex Caunt, great guy to deal with so I thought it was about time I cut the disc valve and got the RH case on, I rigged up my dial gauge and a 360 degree protractor for a timing wheel and marked off the disc, was just about to start cutting when I spotted a load of stress cracks in it :'(

In disgust after the disc incident today I thought about air filters, though a K&N makes sense I didn't think it would be in keeping with the style of the bike so started lookng for a suitably sized intake trumpet but was struggling to find anything near. Then I remembered a length of alloy tube I saved from the work skip months ago and bingo perfect size, once the weird adaptor piece was pulled off the YB carb. I got a selection of large sockets and with a bit of heat started to flare the end

Working up in size and finishing off with a pair of pliers I ended up with this, I would have liked to have tucked the carb inside the casing but since that isn't going to happen this works for me. Will give it a polish on Monday and knife edge the carb for a nice smooth flow.

Yesterday got my cases painted

Today got the right hand case on and finally got the bottom end in and tryed the exhaust up for clearance.

This is the exhaust I'm using or at least going to try, it's tuned scooter one, looks like with a bit of messing around it'll fit and hopefully perform, going to start on it tomorrow

Managed to squeeze in a couple of hours on the ped today, started on the scooter spanny, I cut down an old downpipe and straightened out the first bend a touch and put a slight taper in the end to match up to the spanny, then I cut the rear cone off on an angle so I could rotate it and turn the stinger up a touch. While I had the end off I also removed the pulse robbing ,mesh and wadding in there, then tacked it all together to get a better look. It's very tight between the brake rod and the brake pedal but after a bit of messing around it just squeezes in. Will check the measurements out over the weekend but I've got a feeling this is pretty much spot on for power, we'll see. Once thats done I'll finish welding it up and paint it, I have got a small silencer to go on there if I decide to fit it but will make it slip on I think.

Did some more on the Spanny today a few tweaks to get the stinger away from the rear spindle and a silencer of sorts, the pipe will be black but the silencer is staying chrome. Appologies for the runaway chimp in the background. :D
